Every home should have emergency first aid kits for those little emergencies that come up from time to time. Some kits can be purchased already fitted out with bandages and tape and some even have treatments for pain. They come in different sizes and from different manufacturers, usually those who make the supplies in the first place. First aid kits can be found at drug stores, super markets and other retail establishments. They can also be located online when you are seriously shopping for a kit that will fit into your family’s needs.
First aid kits guides should contain instructions that will help you know how to use the supplies that are in the kit. For instance, even though most people know how to place a band aid on a small cut, they may not know that the cut should first be cleaned and an ointment applied prior to putting the cover in place. Others may not know that when a bug bite begins to swell that is a signal that an allergic reaction may be taking place. Giving a Benadryl tablet or spreading Benadryl ointment on the bite can soothe the irritation and possible prevent an anaphylactic reaction.
